The author behind the scenes.

I think this is a great starting point following my welcome post, but before I get into the more nitty gritty topics like family and travel, etc. You are probably wondering to yourself, “who is this chick and where did she come from?” Okay, maybe not exactly those words, but you catch my drift.

Yup, this is me.

My name is Denise Delfin and I am a San Diegan mama to a former micropreemie boy and a long time significant other to no other than my baby daddy (ew, I hate saying that). I am currently back in school to become a RN with hopes of specializing in the Neonatal.

My son is my hero and inspiration. I will save another post for his birth story and NICU journey for a later time, but I will share a snippet about Adam here. He spent almost four months in the NICU and following that we spent the first few months home visiting doctors and participating in weekly physical therapy and educational development sessions. All the time and hard work paid off because he is doing amazing and going above and beyond where he should be at his age.

If you were thinking it by now, then let me clearly answer it for you. Yes, he is the reason I became a stay at home mama. No regrets there. He needed me more, so it was an easy decision to make. But let me tell you, I had no idea being a SAHM would mean sacrificed human connections with other adults my age. If it weren’t for school and my new fondness of going to the gym, I would literally go days without stepping outside. It can get that bad. (Please tell me I am not alone).

Aside from all of that I enjoy baking, photography, travelling, diy crafts and reading books. I am your typical introvert and can spend hours alone and still remain content. Motherhood has definitely taught me otherwise because lets face it, my son follows me everywhere. He will literally be directly next to me with his tablet volume high blasting “five little monkeys jumping on the bed” while I am trying to read my book in silence. Kids, am I right?

Well, that’s me! I hope you find me intriguing enough to want to keep reading on. Wish to know more? Visit About Us. Don’t forget to subscribe + follow us on social media!
